The Altair Partner Alliance (APA) added Hyperlean s.r.l.’s cost estimation software LeanCOST for HyperWorks users. LeanCOST can be used for quick and easy cost estimation of products, processes, single components and assemblies based on automatic feature recognition from 3D models.

"We could not be happier to be joining the Altair community,” said Margherita Peruzzini, a founding member of Hyperlean. “Cost reduction is something that resonates with every company, no matter what industry vertical they are a part of, which is why we felt the Altair Partner Alliance was a perfect fit for us. This partnership allows us to bring the powerful benefits to a broad array of people with the powerful cost estimation capabilities of LeanCOST. We are very excited to start helping these customers evaluate their processes and prepare for the best possible solutions.”

LeanCOST provides manufacturing cost estimation in the early design stages to help keep project schedules on track with detection of potential roadblocks and eliminating unexpected expenses. In addition to cost planning, LeanCOST is able to define technological parameters of a project and suggest the best production process based on general and specific customer needs. With this information, customers are able to identify and make the necessary changes to optimize a product to achieve and verify the best solution.

“LeanCOST aligns perfectly with Altair’s vision of supporting design engineers in achieving the optimal design solution throughout the entire product lifecycle,” said Rocco Cappiello, Vice President, Engineering Analytics at Altair. “Having the capability to estimate cost in the early concept phase helps design for various manufacturing methods, and provides an extensive process knowledge base for cost analysis, even in the absence of in-house process experts. LeanCOST provides design teams with the ability to make smart decisions with real time cost feedback and a repeatable estimating process in combination with design of experiment analysis and multi-objective optimization.”

In addition to cost estimation and process analysis, LeanCOST includes a standard database of machines and raw materials populated with worldwide data, which have the capability to be customized according to specific customer needs. This provides customers with the power to reduce the overall time for cost estimation, improve the cost control within different departments and to standardize the estimation procedures.

The introductory webinar for LeanCOST will be held on May 24 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET
