Conrad extends logic module offering

One of the main features of the new modules, which extend Conrad's existing Siemens range with more than 20 programmable logic controller (PLC) products, is an integrated web server which can be configured without any HTML programming skills. A built-in Ethernet interface means modules can communicate with each other and with all SIMATIC S7 systems as well as Siemens Basic Panels and Comfort Panels using just standard Ethernet cable. Units can be controlled remotely using a smartphone, tablet or PC.

The compact LOGO! 8 is configured using LOGO! Comfort V8 software which features two different modes: the diagram mode for LOGO! programming and the network mode which allows communication functions to be defined by 'drag & drop' from one program to another.

Siemens has updated the look and feel of the software and LOGO! 8 to offer improved handling. A clear six-line text display with 16 characters per line makes menu options for operations easier to understand and ensures more sophisticated diagnostic options are readily available.

For added clarity, the unit offers the choice of white, orange, and red backlighting to be associated with different functions such as alarms and alerts.

With all connections compatible with previous versions, the LOGO! 8 range includes eight new basic units (with and without display), seven digital modules and three analogue modules.

Also, the number of digital outputs available has been increased to 20 and analogue outputs to eight; through the LOGO! connectivity more I/Os are possible.
