Brevini on-site maintenance keeps downtime to a minimum for gearbox applications

Maintenance and repair work is a real threat to the productivity of most industrial applications due to the unavoidable downtime that is incurred. Even the most reliable of components require regular inspection for signs of wear and intermittent repair work to keep them operating efficiently. The Brevini on-site maintenance and repair service has been developed to allow Brevini engineers to carry out a greater number of jobs in-situ; reducing the likelihood of parts needing to be removed from site and significantly reducing costly downtime.

Brevini Power Transmissions is one of the European leaders in the field of manufacturing power transmission equipment. With a massive range of gearboxes available including helical, bevel-helical and planetary, as well as specialised hybrid designs, it is able to offer reliable and efficient solutions for low speed / high torque applications in almost any industry.

With a wealth of experience in designing and installing gearbox solutions for applications across many industries, Brevini is in a unique position that enables it to offer a premium maintenance service for all gearbox products on the market; even components that weren’t originally manufactured by Brevini. Its engineers are able to conduct site inspections and fulfil regular maintenance contracts to keep equipment operating efficiently and reliably. When a problem is identified, thanks to Brevini’s global buying power, it is able to offer a cost effective solution.

Brevini is aware that downtime due to maintenance or repair work is the single biggest threat to productivity. To keep lost production to a minimum it aims to carry out the majority of its maintenance work on-site, rather than transporting the gearboxes back to its service centre. Engineers are supplied with the best tools for the jobs and their vans are stocked with the commonly required spare parts – increasing the likelihood that they can solve the problem at the first call out.

Andrew Baggaley, Aftermarket Manager for Brevini UK, comments: “Whether we’re performing a routine service check or we’ve been called in for an emergency repair, our first priority is to carry out all the work on-site if possible. We equip our engineer’s vans with the latest tools and most common spare parts in order to meet this aim. Whether it’s a Brevini gearbox, or a competitor product, our engineers have the experience and know how to identify possible problems and offer the best advice and most cost effective solutions.”
