AVL Engineers 100 New Uk Jobs To Cope With Market Demand

The company faces strong market demand for its unique technical skills and is now expanding to cope. This demand has also led to the recent acquisition of Midlands-based NTC Powertrain, who are specialists in software development for gearbox control.



The new roles in the UK will be created across AVL’s Research and Engineering Departments in Basildon, Essex, and the Midlands.



Managing Director of AVL Powertrain UK Ltd., Dr Matthias Wellers said: “We’re seeing more and more companies becoming interested in what we can do for them. AVL was founded in 1948 by Austrian professor, Dr Hans List, initially developing diesel truck engines. Today, led by his son, Professor Helmut List, AVL is working on all areas of powertrain technology which reduce CO2 emissions for the automotive and energy industries.
