VPFlowScope: measuring flow direction

The VPFlowScope of VPInstruments offers direction sensitivity without the usage of extra equipment. Thanks to the patented ThermabrigdeTM sensor, measuring flow and direction is now an easy task. In the industries that use compressed air, the awareness is growing that flow measurements are key to large energy savings. In some cases however, measuring the compressed air demand is not as straightforward as it seems.

In ring networks, the flow direction depends on the actual air consumption of each division and is therefore unpredictable. Also, measuring near air buffers is tricky, because without a non-return valve, the buffer can also deliver air back to the network.

Measuring flow direction was already possible, using a flow direction switch and a mass flow meter combined. This used to be a quite complicated task. Now with the VPFlowScope you can measure the compressed air usage and direction with only one instrument. Measuring in e.g. ring networks becomes an easy task. No extra equipment is necessary, thus installation costs are low. Also measuring air demand of individual users can be enhanced, as the VPFlowScope can detect backflow into the pipe network.
