Measurement Specialties ESP 32DTC pressure scanners were recently deployed in a HIFIRE scramjet missile test designed to explore technologies required to achieve hypersonic flight. The missile was launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii and climbed to an altitude of 100,000 feet while accelerating from speeds of Mach 6 to Mach 8.

PBMN Pressure Transmitter Uses Piezo-resistive And Thin-film Technology
Baumer's industrial pressure transmitter PBMN achieves maximum precision in measuring both low and high pressures by using different sensors. For pressures below 60 bar, a piezo-resistive silicon sensor is used. A metal thin-film sensor ideally suited for higher pressures is available for pressures over 60 bar. The robust PBMN pressure transmitter covers measuring ranges from -100…100 mbar to 0…1600 bar. It is available in three classes of accuracy: 0.1 % F.S., 0.25 % F.S., and 0.5 % F.S. Boasting a combined error of only < 0.4 % F.S., the sensor provides 0.1 % F.S. of long-term stability. The choice of output signals includes 4…20 mA as well as several types of voltage. With its wide measuring range and high overpressure resistance, the PBMN is qualified for a very broad spectrum of applications. The PMBN is easy to configure using Baumer's programming device FlexProgrammer 9701.
Pressure Transmitter PBSR for Railway Applications
With the PBSR, Baumer's PB series includes a new pressure transmitter suitable especially for railway applications. It features a wide compensated temperature range from -50 °C to +85 °C with a total error band of only 1 %. Therefore, it can also be used in braking systems of trains at very low ambient temperatures. Thanks to the high dielectric insulation (1000 V, 50 Hz, 1 minute) the transmitter does not need to be dismounted for dielectric tests on the train.

With the Barflex, Baumer offers a robust digital manometer with integrated data memory. In the ATEX version Barflex 4Y, it is also suitable for the use in rough and hazardous surroundings. It can measure the gauge and absolute pressure of almost all liquid and gaseous media in a range from 500 mbar to up to 1000 bar and with an accuracy of up to 0.1 % of full scale. In the operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C, the maximal total error is at 1% FSR for the T-class and only 0,3% FSR for the S-class. The measuring devices are suitable for complex systems over big distances or security-relevant applications like engine test benches requiring a high accuracy.
