GEM Appoints North East Sales Manager

GEM Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermal Energy International and manufacturer of the award-winning GEM venturi orifice steam trap range, is set to further increase its market share in the North East, Cumbria and Scotland following the appointment of Darren Picken to the position of Area Sales Manager.

A qualified mechanical engineer, and with diplomas in Technical Services and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Darren was previously an Area Sales Engineer with SMC Pneumatics in Teeside, a position he held for three and a half years. Now based in Hartlepool, Darren will be responsible for implementing the company’s dynamic plans to substantially grow its customer base in the North East.

In addition to focusing on new business and supporting GEM’s portfolio of customers in the area, Darren will be selling GEM’s new range of Condensate Pumps and Isolation Valves. He will also introduce customers to GEM’s other ranges, which include Flu-Ace, a unique heat recovery and air pollution control technology, and Kemco International’s water and heat recovery products.
