Embedded Computers for PLC and SCADA Applications

MSC Tuttlingen GmbH introduces the embedded computers of the CARAT series with enhanced CPU performance.

The devices are especially designed for integrated PLC / SCADA applications and provide all required interfaces: two serial connectors RS232/485, two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet and a fieldbus module for all current standards, e.g. CANopen or PROFIBUS. Dedicated hardware features such as power fail detection and battery-backed SRAM will ensure high reliabile PLC operations.

The fanless system is available as Panel PC with 12.1 or 15 TFT touch screen or as Box PC in book format for cabinet assembly.

All embedded devices provide an ETX CPU-module with ULV Celeron M processors (600 MHz or 1.0 GHz) connected to a dedicated base board with enhanced features on-board and up to 1 GB RAM. The power consumption reaches from 16 W (Box PC) up to 44 W (panel with 15 TFT).

Windows XP Embedded is configured according to the designed application. The operting system is installed on a protected internal CompactFlash card. Besides, a second external CompactFlash card is available, which contents the application software and data.
