BSI British Standards has just published the screw thread standard in its revised series

The simplicity and longevity of screw thread standards mean that sometimes fifty years can pass between revisions. As industries globalize, however, it is important that manufacturers produce screws that are able to be used universally and across all sectors.

In light of this, over the past year BSI has revised its suite of screw thread standards — for Whitworth parallel form, ISO metric screw threads and Unified form. The British Association (BA) screw thread specification is the final standard to be revised in the series.

BS 93:2008 British Association (B.A.) screw threads. Requirements

BS 93 specifies limits of sizes, and tolerances, for single start parallel screw threads of British Association (B.A.) form. Fully revised to bring it up to date, the standard specifies the British Association (B.A.) system of screw threads, which comprises 17 graded metric sizes designated by the numbers 0 to 16. Approximate inch equivalents are also given.
