Intertronics demonstrate non-invasive nano particle mixing

Intertronics demonstrate non-invasive nano particle mixing

Have you seen the Thinky nano-level mixer from Intertronics? Seeing is certainly believing in this case, so delegates at the Nano Forum this year (3rd/4th November @ Hilton, Park Lane, London) will now be able to see demonstrations of non-invasive planetary mixing with a variety of materials. The planetary principle does not enfold air so air bubbles are simply not created and without mixing blades or similar the Thinky eliminates extreme stress peaks within the material that could otherwise damage fragile nano-particles.

Laboratory mixing from Intertronics now non-invasive

Laboratory mixing from Intertronics now non-invasive

Mixing of materials in the laboratory or for smaller production volumes is traditionally done by hand, or the use of some sort of mechanical blade, impellor or paddle to agitate the mix. These are fine in their way, being largely inexpensive, manual or simple powered tool processes, and are adequate for many mixing tasks.

Intertronics advance the cause of vacuum mixing

Intertronics advance the cause of vacuum mixing

You would have thought that air-free mixing would be a simple process – wouldn't you? But at the laboratory or small production level it was often not the case – until those clever people at Intertronics saw the need and brought us the Thinky Mixer. The original Thinky ARE250 featured a planetary motion mixing process that by the simple expedient of not enfolding air, often completely removed the need to extract air later. The 250 has now been joined by the ARV310 and the larger capacity ARV5000, both of which have the facility to mix within a vacuum so that even micro-bubbles may be eliminated.
