Dispensing Adhesives with Hand Pumps Reduces CostThreaded fastener loosening is one of the major causes of industrial equipment failure and the resulting unscheduled downtime costs industry millions of dollars each year. Threaded fasteners set and hold tolerances on assemblies ranging from light duty equipment to heavy machinery. To increase the reliability of this equipment many threadlocking methods have been developed, yet none exhibit the level of performance of anaerobic threadlocking and thread sealing adhesives. Anaerobic Adhesives Reduce Costs and Increase Reliability for IndustriesThreaded fasteners set and hold tolerances on assemblies ranging from light duty equipment to heavy machinery. In many cases fasteners that self-loosen during equipment operation may contribute to wear and fatigue, and result in poor operating tolerances, misalignment, and sometimes catastrophic equipment failures that cost millions of dollars in unscheduled downtime each year. Various types of differential stresses such as vibration and shock, thermal expansion and contraction, and micro-movement reduce clamping force on the assembly and ultimately cause machine failure. Case after case, anaerobic threadlocking adhesive technology has proven to be more reliable and cost efficient to prevent the loosening of threaded fasteners and leakage in a variety of applications versus mechanical fasteners such as spring washers, wire retainers and nylock nuts.

Alternative art needs flexible adhesiveBaroness Carrie von Reichardt and her partner (www.myspace.com/treatmentrooms) were asked by the Mutoid Waste Co to be involved in a show called Mutate Britain where a number of well-known artists where each given pieces of a WW2 war plane and asked to let their creative juices flow. Explained the Baroness: "We were actually given two panels and had the only ceramic ones on show. One was called - 'Love the USA' and the other was called 'Drop knickers, not bombs'. One side was straightforward mosaic; the other side had tiles that had been covered in ceramic transfers and re-fired applied. These panels were drilled and hanged on display as part of this five storey show. Not a tile fell off. Rock solid thanks to your wonderful glue."
Intertronics have the answers! The 2 most important questions in adhesive usageHow much adhesive has been applied and where? When is the adhesive fully cured? These two questions have plagued many instances of adhesive usage, often forcing "belt-and-braces" measures, generally costing valuable time. Now, Intertronics, together with sales partner, DYMAX, have what may be the first credible solution to both questions – See-Cure technology. See-Cure technology is an indicator of cure which builds a visible quality assessment factor into the assembly process. The colour change is directly linked to the photo-initiator in the adhesive.
ThreeBond 1300 - the total package on anaerobic adhesivesGlobal adhesive manufacturers ThreeBond are delighted that their anaerobic 1300 series offers such a comprehensive spread of solutions for cleverly bonding the joints of all types of threads etc, preventing them from loosening or leaking. They are distinguished from ordinary adhesives and sealants by the fact that they remain liquid so long as they are in contact with air, and as they enter fine gaps in metal parts and become isolated from oxygen, they harden at normal temperature without shrinking.
Simple Application, Moisture Cure and Elastic - ThreeBond's 1530 adhesiveThreeBond's 1530 product is a one-part, non-solvent elastic adhesive whose main component is a silyl-based special polymer which reacts rapidly upon exposure to moisture in the air and cures to form a toughened elastomer with time. Since there are no solvents or plasticisers contained in the adhesive it shows excellent non-staining characteristics against all materials and is over paintable. It provides excellent weather resistance, high adhesion strength to most substrates without the need for primer pre-treatment, and is environmentally friendly due to its low odour and non-isocyanate chemistry. This makes it ideal for multi-purpose bonding of metals (aluminium, steel, stainless, copper, plastics (polyacrylate, PPO, ABS, nylon, PC, FRP, PET, PPS, PBT etc. ) as well as many, many others such as wood, glass, canvas and rubbers from chloroprene and EPDM to silicone.
ThreeBond's light cure instant adhesive sticks to the parts others find difficult - and even faster!Cyanoacrylates – "instant" adhesives are brilliant assembly products – general purpose, quick setting, simple to apply. But that general formula can be significantly improved, as the introduction of 1770 series light curing "instants" by market leaders ThreeBond has demonstrated. Light curing not only accelerates the final cure time to approximately 10 seconds ( can be up to 24 hours for full cure without light activation ) but also deals with issues such as bleaching/blooming and slow curing excess. It also aids curing in wide gaps, and by using both moisture and light cure ensures a quick thorough cure where light cure alone would be affected by obscuring non-transparent material.
Unusual application - they nail horses shoes - don't they? asks IntertronicsYes indeed the technical team at Intertronics found that they do nail horses shoes – but in the process of custom fitting each shoe a farrier will generate a lot of impact energy on his anvil – not only does this cause the ear damaging "ringing" sound but also generates a potentially damaging reflective shock wave up the hammer into the farrier's body and moves the anvil while working. This problem has been recognised for some time and may be addressed by use of a percussive pad placed under the anvil. So when Ian Payne at Hand Made Shoes was looking to manufacture really effective pads he found he needed a high-grade impact resistant adhesive to hold them together. The Intertronics answer was Araldite® 2040 flexible polyurethane adhesive. Adhesive from Intertronics which tells you when it's readyIntertronics sales partner DYMAX have created "See-Cure" technology as a visual indicator for their UV cure adhesives by colour changing from original blue to clear during the curing process. This innovative approach greatly aids industrial assembly processes, whether the application is medical, electronic, aerospace or automotive. In each case it is essential to know that sufficient adhesive has been dispensed and that a full cure is effected – "See-Cure" colour change technology enables this to be determined at a glance.
ThreeBond 1359E - Electric motors also need adhesivesThreeBond's recently introduced 1359E adhesive is a universal quick curing one component reactive adhesive on the basis of acrylate. It is especially suited to use in electric motors – for example in bonding ferrite magnets in all types of motor from prime-mover to servo or computer drives and other micro electronics. Applications may be found everywhere from consumer products to industrial equipment including electronic, office, audio, energy saving and information related equipment.
